Given the latest national regulations released on 24th March 2022 (n.24) and the end of the state of emergency:
starting from the 1st April 2022, the Green Pass (EU Covid Certificate) will not be necessary anymore
to visit museums, archaeological parks, exhibitions, archives, libraries and other cultural sites.
NEW* starting from the 1st May 2022, wearing masks inside museums and other cultural sites is not mandatory anymore,
but it is still highly recommended.
The “Grandi Mostre” Project (Great Exhibitions) hosted inside the Basilica Palladiana makes a grand comeback: starting from December 2021 until May 2022, the new art exhibition “La Fabbrica del Rinascimento” will be set up inside our beloved monument and symbol of Vicenza. It is the second great exhibition after “Ritratto di donna. Il sogno degli anni Venti e lo sguardo di Ubaldo Oppi”, which was suspended in February 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Municipality of Vicenza, the “Fondazione Teatro Comunale” and the Centro internazionale di studi di architettura “Andrea Palladio” will renew their cooperation in promoting the Basilica Palladiana through a cycle of art exhibitions.
The exhibition “La fabbrica del Rinascimento” will describe the golden century of Vicenza, that is, the 16th Century.
During the Renaissance, Vicenza was at the centre of one of the most dynamic and commercial areas of Europe, all thanks to artists like Andrea Palladio, Paolo Veronese and Alessandro Vittoria. Moreover, the city became one of the most vital centre of European art and culture, manufacturing some of the finest works of art you can now see showcased in international museums.
There will be several art works borrowed from famous European museums: from the Gallerie degli Uffizi to the Museo del Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Wien and the Louvre, to renowned British Museums.
Vicenza itself hosts fine masterpieces, some of which are not very much known or not yet accessible to the public. The stunning ceilings inside Palazzo Thiene by Alessandro Vittoria; the most beautiful “Cena” by Paolo Veronese inside the Sanctuary of Monte Berico, the “Adoration of the three kings” and Cappella Valmarana inside the Church of Santa Corona… The Olympic Theatre itself is certainly worth a visit, as well as many other palazzos of the city centre.

For groups of minimum 10 people, the price of the ticket is 11 € per person, whereas for school groups is 5 € per student and free of charge for 2 accompanying teachers.

(The chart is being updated regularly with the latest news)
Do not miss the chance to visit Vicenza for the upcoming Easter&spring holidays!
Vicenza is globally known as the "City of Palladio", since the famous architect built 23 palazzos right in the historic centre and 16 villas in the province, which are all inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We recommend taking a walk through the streets of the city centre to admire the Palladian architecture, especially along Corso Palladio and Contra' Porti, to see the Palladian Basilica in Piazza dei Signori and to visit the Olympic Theatre, the oldest indoor theatre in the world. Said theatre is open to tourists from Tuesday to Sunday, from 09 to 17 (last entrance at 16.30 - www.teatrolimpicovicenza.it ): there is also the chance to see a brief show of music and lights at specific times of the day (9.30, 10.30, 11.30 e 14.30, 15.30, 16.30).
If you wish to visit other museusm together with the Olympic Theatre, it is possible tpo buy some cumulative cards: the Vicenza Card (20 €) allows the entrance to all eleven museums (Teatro Olimpico, Civic Art Gallery of Palazzo Chiericati, Natural History and Archaeological Museum, Risorgimento and Resistance Museum, Santa Corona Church, Diocesan Museum, Palladio Museum, Gallerie d'Italia - Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Basilica Palladiana (exhibitions excluded), Jewellery Museum and the Galleries of Palazzo Thiene) whereas the 4 Museums Card (15 €) allows tourists to choose for museums out of the ones available.
The Palladian Basilica is hosting an art exhibition inside the main hall under the green dome till 8th May 2022: La Fabbrica del Rinascimento
Do not miss the chance to visit the newly restored Palazzo Thiene: this Palladian building has been closed for years but it has become a full-fledged civic museum at the beginning of 2022, open from Thursday to Sunday (it is open on Easter Monday too!). Tourists will be able to visit the halls on the ground floor and on the first floor, together with an Antonibon ceramic exhibition. In the attic there is a collection of prints by Remondini and sculptures by Arturo Martini.
The Jewellery Museum, located under the loggias of the Basilica, is one of a kind in Europe and one of the few in the whole world dedicated to jewels and goldsmithry. There are nine rooms, each one with a different subject, that will help you discover this unique sector: symbol, magic, functionality, beauty, art, fashion, design, icons, future.
Do you feel like walking around surrounded by nature? The historic park close to the city centre, Parco Querini, is quite close to the city centre and its non-traffic zone. For those who wish to go uphill, the Sanctuary of Monte Berico, dedicated to the Virgin Mary is open every day from 06.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 19.00. The entrance is free of charge. The small square in front of the sanctuary offers the perfect panoramic view on the city, the Small Dolomites and the Asiago Plateau. Discover the easiest itinerary to reach it on foot here!
THE VILLAS IN THE VICENZA PROVINCE
We suggest visiting Villa Valmarana "ai Nani", the renowned for its beautiful frescoes painted by Gianbattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo, open every day from 10 to 18 and Palladio's most iconic villa, Villa La Rotonda, open from Friday to Sunday, from 10 to 12 and from 15 to 18 (closed on Easter and Easter Monday). Both villas are located a few kilometres away from the city centre.
In Lonigo, the Palladian Villa Pisani Bonetti is open every day upon reservation.
Tourists will find a pleasant surprise while walking along the streets of the city centre!
There are several sculptures by Lorenzo Quinn and Andrea Roggi installed in different places and squares.

The sculpture "Give" has been put in Piazza Matteotti, right in front of the Civic Museum of Palazzo Chiericati: the hand of a woman and the hand of a man are joined together to convey the value of giving, a message of peace, hope and faith in humanity, represented by the olive tree in the middle.
The exhibition "Terra Mater - Earth and Heaven" wants to represent the itinerary towards the aesthetic and intellectual contemplation that has inspired the view of Andrea Roggi: the relationship between nature and his own cultural roots, between human and time. There are about six sculptures showcased in Piazza dei Signori, Basilica Palladiana, Loggia del Capitaniato, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazzale Alcide de Gasperi e Piazza San Lorenzo.
