A unique journey through time and space, accompanied by stories and musical atmospheres, which connects the city of today with that of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Participants will be provided with immersive wireless headphones which will allow them to enjoy the audio content created by La Piccionaia.
The tour begins at the boarding point on the Retrone river in the park of the same name, in the Ferrovieri district, south-west of the city. Once you have familiarised yourself with the packrafts and paddles, you will begin to descend the river accompanied by the story of the participatory creation of the park. Cinematic suggestions and relaxing atmospheres accompany the first part of the tour, which approaches the city from the south. Once you reach the railway station, sounds and stories narrate the unpredictable relationship between man and the river: delicate and often conflictual. At the bend of Santa Libera, you will encounter the breathtaking view of Palladio’s city, and glide between Renaissance palaces as you enter Ponte Furo, one of the city’s medieval water gates. From here on, your eyes will be filled with discoveries, encountering the remains of the Roman port and the numerous arches, now buried, which served as shelters for boats. And then there is the Venetian bridge of San Michele and the medieval bridge of Barche, until you return to the Astra Theatre. Literary and musical excerpts create a special atmosphere that will irrevocably transforms our view of the city, restoring one of its most important perspectives: that which for hundreds of years was one of the main access routes for goods and travellers to the city.
