2025 Immaculate Conception long weekend in Vicenza: organise your visit

During the Immaculate Conception long weekend, from Saturday 6th to Monday 8th December, the Civic Museums - including the Olympic Theatre - will be open with regular hours.

From Saturday 6th to Monday 8th December it will therefore be possibile to visit:

From 9am to 5pm (last admission at 4.30pm):

*The Teatro Olimpico - BOOKING IS MANDATORY FOR GROUPS ONLY (more than 10 participants)

From 10am to 6pm (last admission at 5.30pm):

*Civic Museum of Palazzo Chiericati

*Church of Santa Corona

*Natural history and Archaeological Museum

*Galleries of Palazzo Thiene

From 10am to 5pm (last admission at 4.30pm):

*Risorgimento and Resistance Museum

>> The Basilica Palladiana will be open from 10am to 6pm (last admission at 5.30pm) with a visit to the loggia and a view of the hall, which will be partially accessible due work in progress to set the new in view of the Christmas exhibition event titled "Olimpichetto, the return of an ambassador" (www.mostreinbasilica.it)

Regular opening is also guaranteed for the Jewellery Museum, Gallerie d'Italia and Palladio Museum from Saturday 6/12 to Monday 8/12.

Regarding the archaeological sites of Piazza Duomo and the Diocesan Museum:

- Saturday 6th December: Diocesan Museum open from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Roman Cryptoporticus from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

- Sunday 7th December: Roman Cryptoporticus and Diocesan Museum open from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
- Monday 8th December: Roman Cryptoporticus open from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and Diocesan Museum from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Single tickets and combined cards can be bought online, in advance, at the following link https://www.ticketlandia.com/m/civici-vicenza or at the physical ticket offices, located inside the Basilica palladiana (open 10am-6pm) and in piazza Matteotti 12 (which is also the local Tourist information office).

Villa Valmarana ai nani will be open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Christmas events

The large Christmas tree, as per tradition, will be installed in Piazza dei Signori, in the Caffè Garibaldi area.

The magical atmosphere of the video-mapping has also been confirmed for this year: Piazza dei Signori is transformed into a spectacular stage of lights. Here, the textures of light, sound, and color blend with the majesty of architecture. The Palladian Basilica, the Loggia del Capitaniato, the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà and the Bissara Tower thus become splendid illuminated canvases.

Christmas Markets

Traditional markets with wooden chalets are also returning to the historic center, from November 27, 2025, to January 4, 2026, featuring Christmas items, accessories, clothing, typical regional products, and handicrafts to give as gifts for the holidays.

On the occasion of the Immaculate Conception Bridge, the following are planned:

• December 6-7-8 – UNICO the handmade market" Christmas market in Piazza dei Signori

• December 6-7-8 – Christmas Market in Piazza Duomo
• December 8 – "Incontra un amico per prevenzione" – Lymph against Cancer Association activities with a parade in the historic center of the Vivaro band and majorettesdi Vivaro
• December 8 – "Insieme per la vita", live on television from the Loggia del Capitaniato

• December 8 – Fanfara dei Bersaglieri di Vicenza – travelling Christmas concert
