In Milan, the Fair about tourism reserved Palladio 2008 a special place. There were a video, “Palladio by hand”, a film, “I Palladiani”, a postcard collection, with photos of  villas and palaces safeguarded by Unesco, the calendar for 2008, and the new guidebook with itineraries in Vicenza and in Veneto Region.

Vicenza didn’t show only Palladio, but it presented also activities connected with cinema and sport: the trailer of the film “I Palladiani”, the Vicenza Film Commission calendar and the project Sport Commission by PromoVeneto.

“I Palladiani” was shown in the presence of Luca Zaia, vicegovernor of the Veneto Region, and Vladimiro Riva of Vicenzaè Society, who talked about the activities organized to celebrate the 500 years of Palladio’s birth. The film is a documentary directed by Pier Paolo Giarolo and produced by Mestiere Cinema. Some villas owners took part in this film: they are Christiam Malinverni (Villa Godi Malinverni), Manuela Bedeschi (Villa Pisani Bonetti in Lonigo), Renato Bressan (Villa Cvalmarane Bressan in Monticello Conte Otto) and Vittorio dalle Ore (Villa Barbaro a Maser).

The Vicenza Film Commission calendar was presented on Sunday, the BIT last day. It aroused much interest because of its distinctiveness: it begins on fist March 2008 and it ends on 31th March 2009. Every month is illustrated with photos of famous films that had been shot in Vicenza, for example “Senso”, by Luchino Visconti, “Casanova”, by Hallstrom, “dreaming Africa”, with Kim Basinger, or “Miss Take”,by Ulisse Lendaro. On the calendar, 33 italian or international events, connected with cinema and film commissions, are written on the dates they are organized on.

The project of Sport Commission was enthusiastically presented by Vladimiro Riva. It is an institute which had been already created in foreign countries. It was an idea of PromoVeneto, that created it to promote sports strustures as attraction for tourism, and also to support sporting events in Veneto. The Region, provinces, municipalities, the CONI, the CIP and sporting associations can take part in this project and also averyone is able to help to get this scocial purpose, thanks to the organization of events.
