THE LAKE AND "LA ROTONDA" - 35 km - 2 h 30' - a mixed route on asphalt and dug out paths which combines the beauties of art and rural fascination, immersed in a by now forgotten silence.
Starting off from the Arco delle Scalette, we enter the cycle track named Riviera Berica, parallel to the road of the sane name, with heavy traffic. After about 200 m, we come to the crossroad of via G. Tiepolo and cycle along it, and, after a brief climb, we reach Villa Valmarana "ai Nani"("to the dwarfs"), a nickname deriving from the small statues of dwarfs which decorate the surrounding wall.Stradella Valmarna starts from the yard of the villa. It is a dug up path, through which you should walk your bicycle - beware of the steps. It soon reaches the Villa Almerico Capra Valmarana known as "La Rotonda", the masterpiece of Palladio and of architecture of all periods.

Variation: THE RIDE OF SILENCE We go back on the via della Rotonda, slightly downhill, and meet and cross through the Strada Statale 247 (highway) of the Riviera Berica. Next, we move along the cycle track southward for about 3 km, and after we have gone beyond the underpass of the A4 Serenissima motorway, we leave it at the via Cipro point, by the Lago di Fimon table. We once again meet the Statale 247 crossroad and turn left. After we have ridden with care about 100 m on the Statale road, we turn right, at the Church of Longara (4.5 km). At the very next crossroad, we take care to turn right, continuing on the flat, along via Grancare. This is a nice panoramic road which runs at the foot of the Longara hill. There isn't much traffic, and one can see villas and farms from the road. Villa Papadopoli (first half of the XVIII century). Riding slightly up and down, after 4 km, we reach the built-up area of Grancare Basse, near Pianezze. As we continue along the 'false-flat' road, after about 900 m, we cross over the road which leads to Pianezze on an up gradient. We pass it by and take via Palù in front of us, which becomes via Boeca after 600 m. After about 1 km of a route that is at first asphalted and then dug up, we reach the northern side of Lake Fimon where a sign indicates the Sentiero Archeologico Didattico delle Valli di Fimon (Archeological Didactic Path of the Fimon Valleys). We continue for another 200 m and, after a short but steep climb, we turn left at the stop sign. From here we begin to see the lake (10.5 km) - it is worthwhile to 'circumnavigate' it: 4 km on the flat. of which 3 km is slightly uneven dug up terrain. When we have finished the circle and returned to where we started, this time we turn right at the stop sign. We move forward for about 800 m, up to the crossroad for Lapio. We pass it by and take the low road on the left, via Valdimarca, which runs between the hill and the Ferrara Canal, one of the many land reclamation canals on the marshy land of the lake. It is partly asphalted, but is nevertheless easy to travel on even on a city bike. The road offers some pretty panoramas of the Arcugnano hills. We proceed straight ahead on the dug up path to via Fontanelle, neglecting the inviting asphalted road on our right, and soon arriving at the hamlet of Fimon (19 km).
In the village, which is at the head of the small valley, we keep to the right, thus travelling in the opposite direction along the other side of the valley, on the quiet road which leads to the Torri di Arcugnano (towers) (23 km).
At the end of the built-up area, where the hill turns left, we leave the main road and turn left along via Fontega, (24.5 km), which is flat and, at the foot of the hill, enters the Valletta della Fontega. After travelling about 4 km wrapped in a magic, serene atmosphere of silence, we return to the main road which shortly leads to the Tormeno traffic lights (29 km). Here we turn right into Strada di Longara and proceed until we meet the crossroad of Statale 247 of the Riviera Berica. (30.5 km). We cross and go back on the cycling track which leads to Vicenza.

Variation: THE RIDE OF SILENCE
After exiting through the front gate of the villa, we proceed long via della Rotonda, and enter the Valletta del Silenzio, much beloved by Fogazzaro, an attractive rural environment at the foot of the Colle di Monte Berico. Canals, hedges, rows of trees, and crops of the traditional type accompany the road up to the path, indicated on a sign. This leads by an upward gradient to the Park of Villa Guiccioli, on the 'dorsal' road of Colle di Monte Berico renowned for the panorama and the centuries old oaks (a half hour ride in all). We recommend a visit to the adjacent Museo del Risorgimento and to the Santuario di Monte Berico, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, which stands high up over the city of Vicenza. From the facing Piazzale della Vittoria we have a generous view of the city and of the valley to the north up to Pealpi.

NOT JUST VILLAS - 27 km - 2 h - an attractive route at the foot of the hills, all on the flat - EASY /Cordellina variation - 23 km - 1 h 30 - secondary roads alternate with short sections on heavy traffic roads - EASY
At the end of the cycling track of viale Trento, we pick up our bicycles, cross by the traffic lights of Albera and turn left into via del Sole. After 50 m, we turn right into via Magellano, and when this road ends, we have to give right of way to other traffic and turn left into via Biron di Sopra (the name of the via is indicated further ahead). We pedal for 1.5 km up to the fork. Here via Ambrosini begins - it is the Improvement route for Villa Cordellina. Keeping to the right, along via Monte Crocetta, immersed in the countryside with its typical rural houses, we reach the Monteviale-Maddalene crossroad. We continue for Maddalena up to the traffic lights (3 km) where we turn left, following the indication "Sorgenti della Roggia Seriola". We pass in front of the Vecchia Chiesa (XV sec.) dedicated to Santa Maria Maddalena with the remains of the adjoining convent and proceed straight ahead, entering a dug up road. After 200 m, the cycling track begins at the corner of a pretty private house. A slight down gradient takes us to the valley springs of Roggia Seriola, an interesting phenomenon, of which there are many examples in the province. The zone is a true natural oasis rich with vegetation and birds, which easily set up 'house' there. After 200 m, on the crossroad of another dug up section, we keep to the left and reach the table providing information about the characteristics of Bosco Urbano. (4.5 km) . We proceed on the left, crossing a low traffic road and reach the end of the cycling track We are at a crossroad near Costabisarra. We turn left into via Fornaci, a road whose bends follow the ancient masters' borders. We reach the stop sign, and turn right into via S. Carlo. in front of the splendid park rich with centuries old plants: Villa S.Carlo (8.5 km). At the stop sign, we go left toward Castelnuovo and, when we reach the town's piazza (13 km), on the roundabout we follow the indication to Vicenza on the right. We are now cycling along via Roma. At the traffic lights we proceed straight ahead along via Chiodo in the direction of Caldogno and, after 3 km, we very carefully cross the Statale 349 at the crossroad. We proceed along via Fogazzaro, which becomes via Marconi and at the traffic lights we take via Pagello, on which the entrance to Villa Caldodgno, attributed to Palladio, is situated. (17.5 km). When we exit the villa, we return to the traffic lights, cross again and after 300 m, we turn right along a tree lined avenue which takes us to the cemetery. Inside, we can visit the church of S. Michele, an important example of Lombard art in the land of Vicenza. We go back along the avenue, turn right into via Marconi and, after 100 m, we turn left into via Dante. We pedal as far as the stop sign, cross over and continue along via Molinetto. After 1 km, having crossed over a bridge, we turn left into via Latason. The road we are going along traces an unusual "U" bend on the right, and a little while later reaches a small lake for sports fishing (20.5 km); we turn right at the capital and continue up the stop outside the cemetery. We turn left, pedal for 1.2 km and, at the Rettorgole roundabout (21.5 km), we turn right, staying on the road which further ahead takes the name of via Gardellina. We proceed on the right along via Maggio di Lobbia and, after 300 m (take care: the road sign is not easy to see), on the right a sign indicates the remains of the Roman Aqueduct (24 km). We proceed and, at the traffic lights, we turn right. After 100 m, at the next traffic lights, we turn left and, after cycling 200 m, at Chiesa Nuova della Maddalena we turn left into via Rolle. A little further on, the cycling track begins, and takes us to the traffic lights of Albera (27 km.
Variation
: VILLA CORDELLINA LOMBARDI
At the fork, we turn left into via Ambrosini, a straight tree lined stretch of 1.4 km. We turn left at the stop sign, cycling along the boundary wall of Villa Loschi Zileri Motterle. When we arrive at the stop sign, we turn right in the direction of Creazzo. (2 km). On leaving the villa, we turn right, taking care as we ride over the uneven road surface and meet traffic. We go along an attractive tree lined avenue for 700 m, and when it ends, we turn left at the bend, into via Carpaneda (there is no road sign, and, therefore, we follow the Golf Club sign). We continue for about 800 m, up to the stop sign, where we turn right to reach the Creazzo roundabout. Here we follow the road sign to Sovizzo and turn left into via dell'industria. After entering the cycling track, we keep to the right, and turn along the via dell'Artigianato and continue as far as the stop sign. We cross, proceed along via Pasubio and return to the cycling track up to the next stop sign. On the right there is the recently discovered Funeral Cult Complex from the Copper Age (7,5 km). We turn right into San Daniele and, at the stop sign, we once again turn left in the direction of Montecchio Maggiore. At the top of the hill, before us we can see the profile Castles of Romeo and Juliet. We proceed until we meet, on the left, the boundary wall which delimits the rear of Villa Cordellina Lombardi. (11.5 km) We return to Vicenza, cycling along the itinerary route in the opposite direction.
